SCA is a non-governmental membership organisation standing neutral as to political, religious and ideological issues. Today the association has over 3660 members in Sweden and two managerment offices in Stockholm and Kabul. The organisation employs over 5500 staff permanant and project-based staff, 99% of whom are Afghan. SCA programmes are mainly funded by the Swedish government through Sida, Forum Syd, UN agencies, EU, World Bank and the Swedish public. SCA is an association of members who sympathise with and support the aims of the organisation. Based in Sweden, it relies upon the interest, activity and financial support of 22 000 members, sponsors and regular contributors to the Swedish Afghanistan Aid. By disseminating information and raising awareness about the situation in Afghanistan among decisionmakers, media and the general public, SCA seeks to secure funds and long-term support for its development programmes in the country.

Locations of SCA offices:

• There are two management offices, one in Stockholm and one in Kabul. The Stockholm management office (SMO) coordinates membership activities and runs information and fundraising campaigns. The Kabul management office (KMO)supports and monitors implementation of the programmes.

• The development programmes are implememented through our project offices in South East, North, East and Kabul.
