Guiding Principles

From people to people

Solidarity from people to people is the basis for assistance from SCA. The aid activities are therefore anchored in the local community and with the people.

Local capacity

The strategy is to meet the needs of the population and thereby support local initiatives and capacity when implementing the programmes.

Poverty orientation

SCA strives to implement activities to benefit primarily the poorest part of the population. This includes to identify the conditions and interests of women, who constitute one important vulnerable group.

Cultural sensitivity

Understanding of the Afghan culture and respect for Afghan values are central in the implementation process.

Impartiality

SCA stands independent from political and religious organisations in Sweden as well as in other countries.
