Disabled handed over appretiation letter to SCA country director Anders Fänge.

The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan held its autumn management workshop of the year 2009, in which the strategy for the years 2010-2013 was in focus.
High ranking governmental officials from the counterpart ministries, other partner organizations and SCA managing staff from its all project offices participated in the workshop.

Through the strategic plans of each programme the organization outlined positive changes and developments for SCAs work in Afghanistan the coming four years. The results expected by 2013 are formulated for each programme and targets are established for each result so that progress and achievements can be measured.
The invited officials from the governmental offices contributed to the strategic plan and to assess relevant, effectiveness and sustainability of SCAs programmes for the four years.

Over the next four year period there will be a stronger emphasis within the programmes on issues related to sustainability, building the capacities of communities, civil society organisations and local authorities. Furthermore, SCA aims at improved integration and promotion of rights.

New intervention areas being planned within the programmes are broadened inclusive education so as to include nomad children, additional PBHS projects in Laghman, Sarepul and Samangan provinces; community-based irrigation and water-shed management and expanded capacity building of disabled people’s organizations.

In the workshop the counterpart ministries of SCA; the Ministry of Education (MoE), the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disables (MLSAMD) and the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) appreciated SCA through certificates for the long term support and commitment to the Afghan population in rural areas from so many years. The awards were handed over to the Country Director and Secretary General of SCA.
