As the fundamental economic activity of Afghanistan, where the majority of the Afghan population depends on the land for their livelihood, agriculture rehabilitation plays a key role in the reconstruction of Afghanistan. For more than a decade, SCA has been involved in improving the production of basic food through multiplication and sale of improved seeds in 11 provinces in Afghanistan.

The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan’s Agriculture Programme, along with its staff, was officially handed over to CoAR as of January 1st, 2006. Based on the terms of this agreement, the SCA undertook the finance the budget expenses of the program and of 2007 all issues pertaining to the program would be independently carried out by CoAR and they will take charge of the agricultural program along side of their other activities in the country.

CoAR Management has the honour to have the trust of our international partners in reconstruction of Afghanistan, meanwhile CoAR will try its best not only to implement the current programme successfully but expand it to reach other areas in Afghanistan.
